Denis NASH, b. 1835, Co Clare, Ireland son of Nicholas NASH and Annie McNAMARA arrived at Port Adelaide, South Australia as an 18 year old labourer on the ship "Confiance" in September 1854.

Emily Miles SPICER, b. 1838 Dorsetshire, England, daughter of Thomas Coombs SPICER & Emily MYLES arrived as a 15 year old domestic servant with her family at Port Adelaide, South Australia on the ship "Magdalena" in September 1853.

Denis NASH Emily Miles SPICER married in June 1856 at Penola, S-E South Australia and had three sons in the area before moving east over the border into the Victorian Western District and settling in the Carapook area on what was the original "Muntham" Pastoral Run. They had another six children in the area and Denis became involved with the local Bruk Bruk school and the local District Roads Board,

Denis NASH applied his signature to an 1865 letter from Bruk Bruk School, Carapook, S-W Victoria seeking improved amenities for the students.

Denis NASH was an original Glenelg District Roads Board member 1863-1865 which held its first meeting on December 2nd, 1863. Others present at this meeting were George CARMICHAEL, Francis HENTY, Maurice CUSSEN, Owen O'REILLY, & William TREVASKIS. The Roads Board was proclaimed the Shire of Glenelg on 29th June, 1864. Meetings were held at the original Coumcil Chambers at Sandford 1864-1866 and from then in Casterton where a new Council building was opened in 1868.

The NASH family moved to Deniliquin, NSW by 1874 where Denis had aquired a land holding and more children were born up until 1883.

Emily NASH (nee SPICER) died at Deniliquin in 1883, and was buried in the Deniliquin cemetery.

Denis NASH moved from his property "Pine Grove" Conargo (near Deniliquin), New South Wales and died at his residence "Goolwa" Bendigo, Victoria in 1903 and was also buried at Deniliquin Cemetery, NSW.
