William Daly DAVIS 1858-1920, b. Melbourne, Victoria son of William Love DAVIS and Elizabeth JOHNSON (sister of Abraham JOHNSON) married in 1895 at Coleraine, S-W Victoria to Ellen Barclay "Nellie" MURRAY 1863-1933, b. Hamilton, S-W Victoria, daughter of John MURRAY & Christina HUTCHESON.
William DAVIS selected land at Carapook (Muntham) in the 1880s and his property was known as "The Gums" situated on the Carapook to Casterton road. Descendants still farm at Carapook, S-W Victoria.
William DAVIS died at his property "The Gums" in 1920 and his widow Ellen died at their daughter's residence "Leriwa" (near Moulamein), NSW in 1933. They are both buried in the Casterton new cemetery.
