Robert CHAPMAN 1838-1907, b. Little Cressingham, Norfolk, England son of James CHAPMAN and Phoebe CARTER. In 1852, at the age of 13y, he emigrated on the "Omega" from England to Port Adelaide, South Australia with his parents (James and Phoebe) and two younger sisters (Harriet and Ann).

Robert CHAPMAN was married in 1864 in the parish of Beerik (Muntham) near Carapook, Victoria to Clara LANDER 1845-1936, b. Pas-de-Calais, France, daughter of Edward LANDER and Mary Ann SIMPSON. This couple appears to have had at 6 children in the Carapook (Muntham) area of South-Western Victoria before moving north the Swan Hill area (Murray River) and taking up land over the river in New South Wales on what was "Poon Poon" Station south of Kyalite, NSW.

Robert CHAPMAN died in 1907 at Poon Poon (Stony Crossing), S of Kyalite, New South Wales, Australia and was buried at Swan Hill, Victoria. His widow Clara CHAPMAN (nee LANDER) died at Healesville, near Melbourne, Victoria in 1936.
