Peter and Jessie McLACHLAN arrived at Portland, Victoria on the "John DAVIES" from England in November 1852, Peter aged 24y and Jessie aged 27y. Their first child was born at Digby in May 1853.

Peter McLACHLAN was a shoemaker at Digby who died (suicide) in 1888 and his wife Janet died in 1909.
