    Francis EGAN arrived in Adelaide, South Australia in the 1840s. He had farming interests at Merino & Coleraine in S-W Victoria in the 1850s, went gold mining and also managed a station near Bordertown on the SA-VIC border.

    In 1859 Francis & Mary EGAN leased "Greenwald Station", Victoria, near Dartmoor from Richard LEWIS of "Rifle Downs" near Digby and established themselves in this locality.

    Their last child Margaret was born at "Greenwald Station", died at the station aged 1 month and was buried on "Greenwald Station" in June 1871.

    A short while later, Sarah ROGERS (nee CRAIG), aged 90 years and mother of Mary ROGERS the wife of Francis EGAN also died at "Greenwald Station" im July 1871 and she was buried in the Digby Cemetery.

    Francis EGAN contacted typhoid fever while on a trip to Melbourne in 1874 and died at his brother's residence in Richmond in June 1874 and was buried in the Borooondara cemetery.
